Where/Who/Why

Cancer Treatment Centers

One of the side effects of chemotherapy is the loss of hair.  You lose body heat without your hair, and your scalp is exposed.  On top of the emotional struggle of fighting the viciousness of cancer, and the toll of chemotherapy, there is oftentimes the additional worrying about outward appearances - how you see yourself, and how others see you.

Why not make a soft chemo cap to gift to a cancer patient?  Let them know you care.

Hospitals

Patients in hospitals and their families are also facing challenges: away from the comfort of home, having to put off daily tasks, and facing a mountain of medical bills.

How can you help?  Make items for newborns - wrap them in love with a handmade t-shirt, booties, hat, isolette.  Make a hat, slippers, or lapghan for a child or adult that would feel the love from a handmade gift.  Make a wheelchair or walker tote for an older adult to keep their tissues and lotions in.  Give them hope.

Missions and Shelters

Winter is especially hard on those financially challenged.  It would make someone feel special and blessed to know someone cares enough to make a hat, scarf, slippers, gloves, blanket - anything that would provide warmth.
